Amanda (Badali) Pagnotta is running for Oakmont Council because she wants to help Oakmont continue to thrive through her platform to GROW: Gather, Reimagine, Organize, and Work.

GATHER people and resources to grow our community by getting people to come and stay, enhancing communications, and expanding community programming.

REIMAGINE and examine opportunities to embrace technology and innovation to improve structures and systems within our town and how we connect with surrounding towns. Foster responsible economic development by balancing local businesses with community needs.

ORGANIZE our efforts to ensure the safety and security of our community and its people: focusing on roads and flooding.

WORK for the people and with the people to empower voices and the ideals of democracy.

Oakmont may be small, but we are mighty - and as the Old English proverb says "mighty oaks from little acorns grow"

After studying Political Science (BS) and Secondary Education (BAE) at Arizona State University, Pagnotta received her Masters in Education with an Emphasis on Supervision and Leadership. She

served as the International President of the CKI (the college version of Kiwanis), was chosen as the Homecoming Queen for Arizona State University in recognition for her leadership and service, has been

recognized with numerous teaching awards - including the Wetzel’s Pretzels “WOW” Teacher of the Year.

Pagnotta taught social studies for three years in Arizona, then moved back home to Oakmont. She has served as a teacher and a school administrator, but ultimately decided to go back into the classroom. Her background is in teaching History, Civics, Constitutional Literacy, and English Language Arts. She has a strong passion for teaching about law, justice, bias and source investigation. Pagnotta and her husband both teach in the Burrell School District. Together, they have two children, James and Aria. Pagnotta values her experience living inside and outside of Oakmont.

It helped me to see how different communities across the nation grow and develop. It exposed me to an array of cultures and values. Ultimately, it helped me realize that no matter where I roam, Oakmont is always my home. By working in a variety of different communities, I am able to bring fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm to Council.

Pagnotta has a strong grant writing background and loves to analyze systems and structures to find solutions. She describes her personal motto as “creativity meets energy” because with the grit, perseverance, creativity, and planning - you can solve almost anything. Pagnotta believes that it is a Council member's job to ensure that all voices are heard.

This position is not simply about my own personal beliefs, but the beliefs that are reflected in the community, and to uphold the best interests of our citizens - both the young and young at heart.
